Meet Amy
Hello! I’m Amy Isler and I’m the founder of Isler Health Communications. Launching a writing career has been my dream since graduating with a journalism degree from California State University, Chico in 2001, but life decided it had a different plan for me. After years in the software industry, I decided to become a registered nurse following the passing of my husband, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Samuel Merritt University in 2013.
Since then, I have become a credentialed school nurse and completed a Master’s of Science in nursing degree from Sacramento State University. I work as a district nurse for a local school district where I get to build lasting relationships with students, parents and families while ensuring the safety and health of their children.
When COVID-19 landed and schools closed, I allowed myself to reassess my dream of writing. After discovering an established, successful nurse writing community, my gut told me to go for it and Isler Health Communications was born.
My mission is to combine both my nursing and journalism skills by providing positive, accurate, and educational writing to hopefully exceed my healthcare client’s content goals and marketing strategy.
I live with my son, James, and our mini Goldendoodle, Chico, in the Central California town of Tracy. I love a good book, the scent of lemon verbena, mountain air after it rains, and binge watching HGTV.
